WHAT IS THE GALE YARD?
The Gale Yard is a vacant property owned by the City of Beverly Hills. It is currently being used as a staging yard by Metro for the construction of the Wilshire/La Cienega Purple Line Station, and the City will retain ownership once the subway construction is complete (after 2024). The City is seeking input from the community on options for developing the site with a long-term use, which will inform the process of seeking development proposals moving forward.
where is the gale yard site?
The Gale Yard property (8421 Wilshire Boulevard) is located near the northwest corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Gale Drive. The future Wilshire/La Cienega subway station (currently under construction) is located one block to the west of the Gale Yard site. The historic Clock Market building is directly adjacent to the Gale Yard site to the west.

The City hosted the second public forum on October 17, 2022, specially led by a trained facilitator to help identify the community's priorities and areas of consensus.
FORUM #1: AN INTRODUCTION
The City hosted the first public forum on May 2, 2022, to begin the discussion with the community on potential long-term use of the Gale Yard site.

You can help the City understand how best to use this site for the long term. Thank you to all those who participated in the survey and attended the community meetings, in person or online. You may continue to email us your comments on this project at the address below.
what happens next?
The feedback from the community meetings and results of the survey will be reported to the City Council. Then, the City plans to prepare a Request for Proposals (RFP) soliciting development proposals for the site based on input from the community and direction from the City Council.
