Formed in 2015, the Los Angeles Ensemble (LAE) is comprised of winners of international competitions who have trained in leading music schools worldwide. Two are currently in the USC Thornton School graduate program, pianist Sung Chang and cellist Bingxia Lu. Joanna Lee recently earned her DMA at USC studying violin with Margaret Batjer. Violist Tanner Menees is an Artist Diploma candidate studying with Paul Coletti at the Colburn School, where he also earned his Bachelor of Music. Together, LAE was awarded First Prize at the International Music Competition Grand Prize Virtuoso in London and Fourth Prize at the Schoenfeld International String Competition in Harbin, China. The City of Beverly Hills prides itself in bringing its residents, visitors and patrons of the arts the finest in solo and chamber music performances. Since 1994, under Artistic Director Laura Schmieder, Music in the Mansion at Greystone Park has presented concerts featuring selected prize-winning international and local artists.
