The City of Beverly Hills will conduct a Special Municipal Election on November 3, 2020 for the following ballot Measure RP: 

Revenue Protection Measure:  Shall an ordinance be adopted which provides that if, and only if, another local governmental entity seeks to increase the transaction and use tax (sales tax) in Beverly Hills, then the City may prevent this tax increase and instead impose a Beverly Hills transaction and use tax by up to ¾% (approximately $28.06 million annually, indefinitely) so that the tax revenues will flow to Beverly Hills rather than the other governmental entity?

Important Dates for the November 2020 Election:

  • Sample Ballot Booklets began to be mailed by LA County on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
  • Vote by Mail ballots began to be mailed out on Monday, October 5, 2020. 

  • Deadline to sign up for a Vote by Mail ballot was Monday, October 19, 2020.

  • All Vote Centers in L.A. County are now closed.

The City's elections are now consolidated and administered by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. The City Clerk's pages provide basic information for anyone interested in the election process. However, this office does not endorse nor provide campaign related guidance.

There is also a Beverly Hills Unified School Board Election in November. This election process is managed directly by Los Angeles County.
